Bookmarking
"Favorites," or bookmarks, make returning to useful websites convenient. The only problem is when you use your browser to create them they are stuck on the computer being used. What if you could access your favorites anywhere you can access the Internet? There are many free web applications that allow you to do just that. Some of the more popular applications for online bookmarking are Google Bookmarks and Diigo. When using bookmarks for the classroom environment there is another choice that I think is the way to go. It's called Symbaloo.
Symbaloo is different than the other guys in that it represents your bookmarks visually using tiles on a "webmix." What's more, you can share your webmix collection of bookmarks with others whether or not they use Symbaloo. You can even embed your Symbaloo webmixes on your web page. Here's an example of a Symbaloo page embedded on this site...notice how the tiles are all active links to web pages:
