Blogs

Blogs are web sites that are used to post information and receive comments or feedback. In its purest form, a blog is a web diary. However, in education circles, it is being used more for reflection and journaling on topics discussed in class or posted by the teacher.

Blogger by Google has become my preferred blogging application. It has a clean, clutter free interface and nice final product. It also permits you to upload larger files (video, pictures, etc.) than most other free blogs. Unfortunately, some schools still insist on blocking blogs, wikis, and many useful web 2.0 services.  You may or may not be able to access Blogger at your school site. Talk with your technology coordinator about allowing access to Blogger if you cannot access it.

What You Will Need to Begin Blogging With Blogger:
1. A Google Account (if you already have a Gmail account you can use that user name and password to access Blogger). It's FREE! To create an account, click here.
2. Sign in to Blogger at www.blogger.com and begin setting up your blog for the first time.
3. Plenty of ideas, opinions, thoughts, and discussion to share!
